Lookout Mountain - Woven Tapestry
Lookout Mountain — Woven Tapestry
Hello mountains. Goodbye flatlands. Or in our case, it was goodbye mountains + hello flatlands. Depending on which way you are headed, Lookout Mountain is the first (or last) glimpse of the Rocky Mountains just outside of Denver. When I snapped this photo, I remember wishing I knew how to paint. This picturesque scene was a beautiful reminder that there are no mountains without valleys, and even in the valleys, there is beauty all around. So, for the weaving of #100moredaysofphotostofibers, I drew inspiration from this photo I took during a really tough transitional season in life as a welcome reminder that plot twists can be unexpectedly beautiful — sometimes they simple require a different vantage point.
I set out to paint with fiber this breathtaking view by mixing all the deep + subtle greens, blues + neutrals.
For #the100dayproject, my original photos will also be available for purchase. If you would like to purchase the print of Lookout Mountain, it is available here.
Size: 24”W x 25”H
Color: Slate, Sky, Bird’s Egg, Delft + Fjord Blue, Forest, Olive, Pine + Crocodile Green, Latte, Chantelle, Natural + Snow on a reclaimed branch
Previously Sold. If you want me to recreate something similar, please contact me.

With every sale, you choose a project you would like to support. My hope is that it would connect you to some incredible work that is being done around the world. Together, we are #knotjustthreads, we are an interwoven tapestry and when we come together, beautiful things can happen.
I have been intentional with the organizations I have chosen to support. I know that it is not only important to know where the money goes, but to know that the work is being done in sustainable ways to produce a long-lasting impact. Having personally partnered with each of these organizations in the field, I have seen how they practice love in action.
